In today’s busy life, the facility of ordering everything from home has become very easy for people. From food to daily needs, everything reaches the doorstep within minutes. However, this facility sometimes forces people to spend more than necessary without realizing it. A person living in Gurugram felt something similar and shared it on social media, which went viral as soon as it reached people.
The person shared his story on the social media platform Reddit. He titled the post: I tracked my food expenses for three months and was horrified to see the results. In the post he told that in just three months he spent a total of Rs 35,400 on food. The most surprising thing was that he had no idea that he was spending such a huge amount just on ordering food online.
How much did it cost per month?
In the post the person also gave complete details of his expenses. According to him, he spent around Rs 11,400 on food in the first month. In the second month this amount increased to Rs 13,200. In the third month the expenditure decreased slightly, but still remained Rs 10,800. The total of these three months came to Rs 35,400.
The person told that he has been living in Gurugram for the last two years. Recently he decided to analyze his expenses. When he added up all the online payments and restaurant bills related to food, he realized that a large part of his income was being spent only on food.
He wrote that he had placed most of the orders through Zomato. Apart from this, he also often ordered food from some local restaurants near his PG. Initially he thought that ordering food occasionally was not a big deal, but when the data of the entire three months came out, the picture turned out to be completely different.
post went viral
The most interesting thing was that despite spending so much money, he was not completely satisfied with his food. The person told that sometimes the food was not as good as expected. He would eat food, but even after that he would feel a strange dissatisfaction. Then he would get busy with Netflix or other entertainment sources. He wrote in his post that the quality of food was also not the same every time. Many times the food turned out to be of mediocre quality, but due to his busy schedule and lack of time, he could not get out of the habit of ordering online again and again.
