Finding a house on rent in Bengaluru is already not considered an easy task. Sometimes high rent, sometimes heavy security deposit and sometimes various conditions irritate people. But recently what happened with a guy surprised people on the internet and also made them laugh a lot. Bande shared his experience on social media, in which he told that a landlord promised to give him a flat without any monthly rent, but in return he asked for a security deposit of Rs 40 lakh.
This entire matter quickly went viral on social media platform X. In this post shared from an account named @HelloVyom, the person said that the rental market of Bengaluru has now become so strange that anything can be seen and heard here.
What offer was given to the tenant?
According to the person, when he had a conversation with the landlord, he clearly said that he has no special interest in taking rent every month. He says that I am very rich. This is why I don’t need rent every month. However, they were looking for a tenant who they felt was trustworthy and was ready to pay a security deposit of Rs 40 lakh.
During the conversation, the guy introduced himself and said that he has studied from IIT. Hearing this, the landlord was quite impressed and expressed his desire to give him the flat. But when the issue of security deposit came up, the guy also made a different offer in a funny way. Bande said that he always believes in creating better value for his stakeholders.
With this thinking, instead of depositing Rs 40 lakh in cash, he offered an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) worth Rs 80 lakh in his startup to the landlord. That is, he said that instead of security deposit, shares of the company should be taken, the value of which would be even higher. However, the landlord did not like this idea of โโthe guy at all. After some time, a short reply came from their side, in which it was written that ESOP in lieu of deposit? Watch Shark Tank a little less. The guy also did not remain silent after reading this taunt of the landlord. He also replied in the same manner and wrote that security deposit of Rs 40 lakh? Smoke the ganja a little less.
What happened next, this funny conversation between the two went viral on social media. Thousands of people read this post and started giving their respective reactions. Many users said that the experience of finding a house in Bengaluru is no less than an adventure. Some people jokingly wrote that now it seems that renting a house requires more patience and presence of mind than bank balance.
