Searching for the first job after finishing college is a big step for every youth. After completing studies, everyone hopes that their hard work will bear fruit and their career will begin. But sometimes the reality turns out to be completely different from the expectations. Despite having a good degree, when not a single interview call comes for months, it is natural to feel heartbroken. A new engineer from Bengaluru has shared a similar experience on the social media platform Reddit. His post caught the attention of thousands of people because today many freshers are going through similar problems.
The guy told that he has recently completed his B.Tech studies and he is a student of 2026 batch. After getting the degree, he started looking for a job without wasting any time. For the last one month, he has been continuously applying in different companies. He expected that after so many efforts at least some interview calls would come, but it did not happen. He wrote in his post that within just one month he applied for jobs at about 500 places. He did not rely on just one website, but also sent applications through LinkedIn, the company’s official career page and many other job portals. Despite this he did not get a chance for even a single interview.
No reaction received
The most disturbing thing is that no response came from many companies. After sending the application, neither information about the interview was received nor was it told why the application was not accepted. When no response is received even after waiting continuously, the confidence of any fresher can waver. The guy also made it clear in his post that at present his priority is not to earn a big salary. He says that he just wants an opportunity where he can learn the work and gain experience in the industry. According to him, experience is most important in the beginning. Therefore, he is ready for almost every type of role related to technology.
He wrote that now he does not understand what to do next. Despite sending applications every day, no results are coming. For this reason, he wrote his thoughts on Reddit, so that maybe someone can give him the right advice or share his experiences.
As soon as this post appeared, many people reacted to it. A large number of users said that they too have faced a similar situation. Some people said that nowadays getting a job has become much more difficult than before, especially for freshers.
One user wrote that he gets interview calls, but every time he does not get selected till the last stage. Due to repeated rejections, his self-confidence is also decreasing. Another user said that the most disappointing thing is when companies do not even give any information after rejection. The candidate is not even able to know where the deficiency lies.
