Work pressure in the office is not a new thing, but sometimes some rules are made which do not seem fair to the employees at all. Especially when someone’s health is bad and he is asked to provide proof of his illness. Recently, one such case is being discussed a lot on social media. A WhatsApp chat between an employee and his manager has gone viral on the internet. In this chat, the employee gave such a reply to his boss that thousands of people started associating themselves with him.
This viral chat was shared with an X account named WhateverVishal. It was written along with the post that many managers treat employees as if they are not employees of the company but slaves working under them. It was also said in the post that the new generation i.e. Gen Z employees now know how to express their views openly instead of tolerating everything silently and the same was seen in this chat also.
What did the manager say?
Actually, the employee messaged his manager and informed that he was not well. He said that he is ill, but will try to manage his work by taking medicine. That is, he had not asked for leave, but had only given information about his health so that if the pace of work was a little slow, the reason could be understood, but the employee was surprised to hear the manager’s answer. The manager said that the director of the company has directed that any employee who takes leave due to illness or says he is ill, will have to give a doctor’s prescription. That means his words will not be trusted without medical proof.
From here the atmosphere of the conversation changed. The employee did not like this at all. He immediately replied and wrote that he is not a school student who has to submit a leave application signed by his parents along with a doctor’s note to prove his illness. People liked this answer of the employee so much on social media that within no time the chat went viral. Many people said that this is not the story of just one person, but the everyday problems of millions of employees. Many people believe that instead of trusting the employees in the office, they are forced to explain every small thing.
Thousands of people also expressed their opinions on this post. Someone wrote that his old boss said that if a person can walk on his own feet, then he should also come to the office. Be it fever, weakness or any other problem, work should come first. After reading such experiences, many people said that they too have gone through similar situations. Expressing his displeasure, another user wrote that in many companies such people are made managers who do not have the understanding of handling people. He said that having technical knowledge is a different thing, but to manage a good team, humanity, trust and better communication skills are equally important.
