OMG! Didn’t get relief even after office, employee upset with manager’s attitude reveals secret on Reddit

June 27, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Good work in the office does not depend only on the hard work of an employee. Many times the support of the entire team, the environment and most of all the attitude of the manager decides how well a person will be able to perform in his work. If the manager is supportive then even difficult tasks seem easy. But when the same manager starts interrupting on every small issue, demands answers all the time and does not allow one to be at peace even in personal time, then doing the job seems no less than a burden.

An employee going through a similar problem has shared his story on Reddit. He told that his manager’s behavior has become so controlling that now the stress of the office has reached his personal life. His post is attracting a lot of people’s attention on social media and many users have also given their opinion on it.

Have to work more than necessary

This post was shared in Reddit’s r/developersIndia community by an account named Terrible-Mention-138. The employee said that his manager needs to know what he is doing at all times. If a call is not answered immediately, the manager starts calling directly on his personal number. If the conversation is not possible there, an email is immediately sent stating that they tried to contact, but the employee was not available.

According to the employee, a few days ago he had an argument with his manager on this issue. Initially the manager asked about the progress of the work, which was a completely normal thing. But gradually the topic of conversation changed and he started raising questions on the timing of login and logout.

The employee says that he even works till late night if necessary and sometimes handles office work beyond the stipulated time. Despite this, the manager feels that he is not available all the time throughout the day. They feel that employees should be ready for office all the time from morning till night.

The biggest problem arises when managers start holding meetings or calls every day at around 9.30 pm. The employee told that he wanted to spend this time with his family, hence he requested the manager that instead of holding such meetings daily, they should be held two-three times a week, but instead of accepting his request, the manager alleged that he deliberately delays the work and is trying to avoid responsibility.

After this post surfaced, people started giving their opinions on Reddit. Many users supported the employee and said that it is absolutely wrong to expect any employee to be available 24 hours. He believes that after the office hours are over, every person has every right to live his personal life.
