Obsession on OTT: After scaring the world, Rs 3500 crore ‘Obsession’ comes on OTT, but Indian fans are heartbroken!

Obsession on OTT India: The biggest horror and psychological thriller of the year 2026 ‘Obsession’ has finally been released on the digital platform. Made with a very low budget of just 7.5 lakh dollars (about Rs 7 crore), this independent film broke all the records of earning at the box office around the world. After creating a stir in theatres, people all over the world were eagerly waiting for its OTT and digital premiere, which is now over. However, Indian fans will have to wait longer to watch it on OTT.

Supernatural horror sensation ‘Obsession’ emerged as one of the biggest surprise blockbusters of 2026. Made on a very low budget and without any big star, this film received a lot of praise from both critics and audiences. Most of the praise has gone to Inde Navarrete, who made the film a blockbuster with her tremendous acting in the role of Nikki Freeman. The film collected more than Rs 3500 crore at the worldwide box office, while it earned more than Rs 82 crore at the Indian box office.

Obsession came on OTT

‘Obsession’, directed by Cary Barker, has been made available for rent and purchase from June 30, 2026 on premium video-on-demand (VOD) platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home. However, amidst this big good news, Indian fans have got a big shock. Fans of this film living in India are currently unable to watch ‘Obsession’ on digital platforms, because it has not been released in India.

Indian fans will have to wait

This disappointment is even bigger for Indian fans because the film’s director Kari Barker himself had admitted that there was a different craze for this film in India. It also did well at the Indian box office and those who could not see it in the theater were eagerly waiting for its OTT release. But now Indian fans may have to wait longer to watch ‘Obsession’.

At present, no official date has been revealed as to when ‘Obsession’ will be released on OTT in India and on which platform. However, it is expected that in the future, when this film will be available for subscription streaming on Peacock, then it can be released in India through Jio Cinema or other partner platforms.

The story of ‘Obsession’ revolves around a boy named ‘Bear’, who makes a wish to a magical tree (One Wish Willow) to get his childhood friend ‘Nikki’ back. His wish is fulfilled, but Nikki’s love gradually turns into a very scary and deadly obsession, which gives goosebumps.
