NSUI will give Rs 11 lakh to the family of NEET candidate Pradeep Meghwal, NSUI made a big announcement

May 24, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday assured all possible help to the family of a candidate of medical entrance examination NEET-UG in Sikar, Rajasthan, who allegedly committed suicide after the paper leak recently. During the conversation, the family had told Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi that despite financial constraints, they had taken a loan of ₹ 11 lakh for Pradeep’s education and NEET preparation.

Let us tell you that after the NEET paper leak case, Pradeep Meghwal, a resident of Gudha Gaudji, Udaipurwati, Rajasthan, took the step of committing suicide after being hurt by the continuous irregularities in the examination and the NEET paper leak case. This incident has raised serious questions about the future and mental health of students across the country.

NSUI workers collected Rs 11 lakh

In view of the financial crisis faced by the family after this incident, NSUI workers from across the country decided to stand with the family, showing sensitivity and solidarity. Under the leadership of NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar, NSUI workers have together collected an amount of ₹ 11 lakh, so that the debt burden on the family can be reduced.

Will give financial help to the family on 26th May

Let us tell you that on May 26, financial assistance amounting to ₹ 11 lakh will be handed over to the family. NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar himself will meet the family and provide this assistance. On this occasion, Vinod Jakhar said, Pradeep Meghwal’s death is not just the death of a student, but a painful symbol of the failure of the current examination system. A financially struggling family was forced to take a loan of ₹11 lakh to fulfill their son’s dream of becoming a doctor, but corruption and irregularities in the system shattered that dream.

NSUI standing strongly with Pradeep’s family

Vinod Jakhar said that NSUI stands strongly with Pradeep’s family in this difficult time. This assistance is not just financial assistance, but a message of solidarity and sensitivity against injustice on behalf of the student community across the country. We will continue our nationwide struggle against NEET paper leak, examination corruption and playing with the future of students.

Demand for strict action against those responsible

NSUI has once again appealed to the government to ensure transparency, accountability in the examination system and safeguard the future and mental health of students, while demanding strict action against those responsible for examination irregularities.
