Now recruitment of officers in Air Force based on GATE score, know the new system of examination

Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the launch of a scheme for recruitment in Technical Branch (Officer Cadre), under which eligible candidates can apply on the basis of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score. Under this new initiative, candidates with valid GATE scores will be eligible to be directly selected for the examination in the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB).

Selection will be based on merit, due to which these candidates will be exempted from preliminary written examination like Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). GATE score scheme will be applicable only for recruitment in technical branch. AFCAT will continue to serve as the standard entrance examination for recruitment into all branches of the IAF, including the technical branch.

Air force plans to recruit in technical branch

Indian Air Force has launched a scheme under which eligible candidates can apply for recruitment in the Technical Branch (Officer Cadre) of the Air Force on the basis of their GATE score. The Defense Ministry said, eligible candidates can apply for the technical branch on the basis of both Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) marks, as per their choice, which will provide them maximum flexibility.

She said that through this scheme, candidates will be selected on the basis of merit, which will effectively exempt these candidates from preliminary written examination like AFCAT.

Application based on GATE score

The ministry said that the Indian Air Force announces the launch of a scheme for recruitment in the Technical Branch (Officer Cadre), under which eligible candidates can apply on the basis of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scores. Under this new initiative, candidates having valid GATE scores will be eligible to be directly shortlisted for testing at the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB).

To provide maximum flexibility and opportunities to the candidates, eligible candidates can apply for Technical Branch through both AFCAT and GATE score schemes as per their choice.
