
The US intelligence agency has arrested California tech giant Jamshed Ghomi on charges of spying for Iran. Jamshed is accused of secretly selling a consignment of computer hardware to the Iranian regime to help its nuclear program. 63-year-old Jamshed was present at his home when the police arrested him. The picture of the arrest is going viral on social media.
According to local media reports, Jamshed took money to advance Iran’s nuclear program and sold computer networking parts in return. Los Angeles’ top federal prosecutor Bill Essel says Jamshed America Betrayed with.
How did he sell secret hardware to Iran?
1. According to the investigating agency, Jamshed was providing computer hardware to Iran for the last 10 years. Till now he has secretly sent more than 250 tons of American hardware to Tehran. Jamshed used to buy hardware before sending it to Iran with the help of eBay and PayPal. Then he used it in his company for a few days and later sold it to Iran’s intelligence network.
2. Jamshed’s company earned 10 million dollars annually by selling computer hardware. However, the company showed only $20 thousand in revenue. The federal prosecutor says preparations are underway to seize all his assets. Efforts are being made to give him strict punishment.
3. According to the IRS, between May 2011 and August 2015, Jamshed received $7 million from foreign sources through an escrow account. It is being said that this money was sent by Iran.
California has become a bastion of espionage
California is a city in America, but in recent times many big people have been arrested from here on charges of espionage. Last month, the city’s former mayor Elin Wang was arrested on charges of spying for China.
Similarly, in April 2026, 44-year-old Shamim Mafi was arrested from Los Angeles Airport on charges of spying for Iran. Shamim was accused of arms smuggling. Engineer Mohammad Ostowari was arrested in July 2025.
Ostovari was accused of sending American electronic equipment to Iran in violation of sanctions.
