If you use Android phone then there is good news for you. Google may soon bring a new security feature for Android users which will give information about dead apps present in the phone. Till now Play Store warns only about harmful or suspended apps, but now alerts can also be received for such apps which have been removed from Play Store. According to the report, this feature will tell users which installed apps are no longer available on Google Play Store and they will not get updates. With this, users will be able to keep their phones more secure.
You will get warning about apps removed from Play Store
Till now Google Play Store sends alerts only about those apps which Google Play Protect considers dangerous or suspended. But there are many apps which are removed by the developers themselves or are delisted from the Play Store due to policy violations and not being active for a long time. Such apps remain in users’ phones without any notice. According to the report of Android Authority, now Google is preparing a new system which will tell the users which app installed on their phone is no longer available on the Play Store. This will make it easier for users to understand which app is no longer safe.
What will be special in the new notification system?
It has been said in the report that some new strings have appeared in the code of Google Play Store version 51.4.19 which point towards this feature. These strings indicate that the Play Store will warn users that deleted apps will no longer receive updates through Google. Not only this, if more than one app has been removed, the notification message will also change accordingly. At present, Google has not made any official announcement regarding this feature nor has it given information about the rollout timeline. However, if this feature comes then it can prove to be very useful for Android users.
Preparation to take strict action against unverified developers also
According to reports, Google is preparing to strengthen Android security. The company may make the installation process of APK files coming from unverified developers more difficult than before. Under the new system, users will first have to turn on developer mode, then restart the device and then complete a mandatory cooldown period of 24 hours. Only after this the APK can be installed through biometric or PIN. It is believed that Google is taking this step to stop fake and dangerous apps so that users’ data and devices can remain more secure.
