24 hours time to provide clarification
Anil Desai said that as the Chief Secretary of the party, he is issuing this ‘show cause’ notice. He said that the MPs are being instructed to clarify about these anti-party activities within 24 hours of receiving this letter. They said that
You will have to give an explanation regarding anti-party behavior within 24 hours of receiving the notice. ‘Operation Tiger’
This notice has come at a time when the party is struggling with internal challenges and defection. In fact, the party is in trouble due to the fear of mass exodus of UBT MPs to Eknath Shinde faction amid ‘Operation Tiger’. The call of the party leadership came out openly in the parliamentary party meeting in New Delhi on Thursday.
Only 3 MPs reached the meeting
Out of the party’s nine Lok Sabha MPs, only three, Arvind Sawant, Anil Desai and Rajabhau Waje, attended the meeting. The remaining 6 MPs Nagesh Ashtikar, Sanjay Deshmukh, Sanjay Jadhav, Sanjay Dina Patil, Omprakash Rajenimbalkar and Bhausaheb Wakchore remained missing.
Sanjay Raut said this
In response to the absence of MPs, the UBT faction immediately tried to establish its dominance. Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said that show cause notices have been issued to the six absent MPs and the formal process of their disqualification from the Lok Sabha has been initiated.
In a conference, Raut said, ‘The process of action has started. We will make every possible effort to get them disqualified. If the Speaker of the Lok Sabha acts as per the rules, law and instructions of the Supreme Court, then these people will be disqualified.
MLC Chandrakant Raghuvanshi’s claim
The discussion regarding ‘Operation Tiger’ intensified when Shiv Sena MLC Chandrakant Raghuvanshi claimed that 6 Shiv Sena UBT MPs have expressed confidence in Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and have joined his faction. After this claim, there is panic in the UBT camp. The party has now started damage control and is putting pressure on the MPs through notices. If 6 MPs join the Shinde faction, then the strength of UBT in the Lok Sabha will reduce from 9 to only 3.
