Former Chief Minister of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rabri Devi has been asked to vacate her government residence located at 10 Circular Road, Patna. The administration has issued a notice to them and directed them to vacate the house. It is being told that this house has now been allotted to Animal and Fisheries Resources Minister Nand Kishore Ram. After this step of Bihar government, the stir in the politics of the state has once again intensified.
With this notice comes to an end a stay of almost two decades which had transformed this bungalow into one of the most famous political haunts of Bihar. This bungalow at 10 Circular Road, located in the VIP area of the capital Patna, has been the official residence of Rabri Devi for decades. Earlier in November 2025 also, Rabri Devi was given notice to vacate the same house. Now after the fresh notice issued, this matter has again become a topic of political discussion.

Main center of political activities of the party
Located near the Chief Minister’s residence and Raj Bhavan, this bungalow has been not just a residence but also the main center of RJD’s political activities. Many important decisions and strategic meetings of the party have been conducted from here. In such a situation, this place is not just a residence but also holds special significance for the party. Besides, the workers and leaders of Lalu family’s Lava Party also have a strong connection with this place. This place has also been an identity of RJD.
This will be the new address of Rabri Devi
According to the information, the officials have requested Rabri Devi to shift to the government residence at 39 Harding Road allotted to her as the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council. The government says that this process is being done under the housing allotment rules and all public representatives should follow the prescribed rules.
What did the Bihar Assembly Speaker say?
On the notice sent by Bihar government to RJD leader Rabri Devi, Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar said that the government has made rules and everyone should follow them, especially the public representatives. In November last year, a similar notice was sent to the former Chief Minister of Bihar, on which RJD leaders had expressed their displeasure.
RJD spokesperson’s allegation
RJD has called this decision of the government politically motivated. Party spokesperson Shakti Yadav said that the Building Construction Minister is a sensible person. But, this decision shows how much BJP’s influence has increased on 1 Ane Marg. His reference was towards JDU leader Vijay Kumar Sinha.
Daughter had raised questions on the earlier notice
Rabri Devi’s daughter Rohini Acharya had also earlier expressed her displeasure over such notices. He had said in a post on social media, ‘The biggest priority of the government is to humiliate Lalu Prasad, the messiah of crores of people. You can drive them out of the house, but how will you drive them out of people’s hearts? If not his health then his political status should have been kept in mind.
