‘Not voters, but public representatives are also being bought with capital…’, Lalu Yadav roars on 30 years of RJD

July 5, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is celebrating its 30th foundation day today (Sunday, July 5). This party, formed in 1997, has completed three decades. Today is a very special day for party founder Lalu Yadav. On the occasion of the 30th foundation day of the party, he issued a message to the people and party workers of Bihar. During this, he remembered the political journey of RJD and also indicated a future strategy.

Lalu Yadav described the organizational journey of three decades as a symbol of struggle, sacrifice and politics of social justice. Along with this, he congratulated and congratulated all the party leaders, workers and supporters on the Foundation Day. He has shared a long post on social media.

RJD chief remembered this day like this

The RJD chief said in his message that the day of July 5 has special significance for crores of people of Bihar because on this day in 1997, along with many senior colleagues, we had established the Rashtriya Janata Dal to achieve the rights and entitlements of the poor, the exploited, the depressed classes and the minorities. He said that this is not an ordinary day. On this day, there was a transformation in the condition and direction of politics of Bihar and the country.

‘Workers and voters set an example’

He said that words will fall short to describe the struggle, sacrifices and sacrifices made by Rashtriya Janata Dal for the welfare of the poor, the exploited and the general public. He said, ‘To destroy the prevailing social and economic inequality and communalism in Bihar, as well as to build a developed, strong, prosperous, happy and equitable Bihar, countless selfless workers and voters of RJD have set a unique example of service, sacrifice, sacrifice and hard work across the country.’

He said that the expansion of the party has been possible only due to the blood and sweat of the workers dedicated to the party. He said that it is the result of the energy, determination and dedication of our workers that RJD is moving forward stronger every day. He said that I wholeheartedly salute all the leaders, colleagues and workers who supported the party in every phase.

RJD’s priority and commitment

He said that the priority and commitment of RJD has been the advocacy of the poor, oppressed, outcast, weak and oppressed sections. Even in the changing times, our politics has basically been against socio-economic inequality and sectarianism. He said that our development model is not limited to shining airports, luxurious malls and glittering hotels, rather we are committed to the participation and participation of the poor and the last person of the society in every aspect of development.

He said that in this journey we have achieved many such milestones which were impossible to even imagine four-five decades ago. He said that our commitment towards the values of Lohia, JP, Karpoori and Ambedkar has become stronger and we have also reached the destination from where we now have to take the fight for economic and psychological empowerment to its complete conclusion. He said that this heritage is our strength as well as our capital.

Use of capital to buy public representatives

Lalu Yadav said that there is a momentary cloud of disappointment over all the democratic, progressive, socialist and democratic ideological parties in the country. Compromised constitutional institutions, aggressive markets, unlimited use of capital to buy not only voters but elected representatives and right-wing reactionary politics have posed many challenges to the existence of democracy. He said that the issues of participation of backward people, equality of education and employment opportunities, rights of minorities, their protection, unequal development and failures of the government are being covered under the cover of so-called Hindutva.

Targeted at BJP

Taking aim at the BJP, he said that if we examine the election results of many states in the past, we will find that the BJP is trying to push the country back again on the strength of dictatorship by taking over the constitutional institutions and ignoring the Constitution. Our politics does not allow us to accept this situation. He said that all the colleagues of Rashtriya Janata Dal will have to get ready for this historic role without wasting any time. He said that every worker and leader has to understand that our party is not just a machine to contest elections.

appeal to workers

He said that by maintaining constant contact with supporter groups and other progressive sections, it will be assured that RJD is capable of fighting for their issues and concerns both in Parliament and on the streets. He said that ‘this fight is going to be different from all the previous battles because this fight is a fight between insensitive prosperity and conscious poverty. This is a fight between the powerful and the helpless classes, this is a fight to end the unconstitutional practices of constitutional institutions, this is a fight between the Sangh and the new jugalbandi of corporate houses. This fight is a fight for the survival of the poor, farmers and the downtrodden in India. He said that keeping aside minor concerns and differences, everyone will have to fight together to take this fight to its complete conclusion. He said that in today’s opportunistic, pessimistic and uncertain environment, if any party is capable of realizing the dreams of the needy, it is RJD only.
