Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav met Jyotirmath’s Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati on Thursday. After the meeting, he cornered the BJP government on issues like alleged theft of offerings in Ram temple, cow protection, Sanatan Dharma and law and order. Shankaracharya also expressed concern over the developments related to the protection of mother cows and the Ram temple. Akhilesh Yadav said that he had the good fortune of getting the darshan and blessings of revered Shankaracharya.
Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav told that there was a detailed discussion between the two regarding the crisis faced by Sanatan and freeing the religion from the clutches of unrighteous people. He said that Shankaracharya is extremely concerned about the condition of mother cows, there is a need to take serious steps on cow protection. Akhilesh Yadav once again targeted the BJP government regarding the case of alleged theft of offerings in Ram temple.
BJP attacked on Ram temple offering theft case
Akhilesh said that the call detail records (CDR) of all the employees in the temple premises who were less paid should be checked. He claimed that 99.9 percent people would turn out to be BJP. He alleged that cases are continuously registered against opposition leaders, but not even FIR is registered on the complaints of the opposition.
Questions raised on SIT investigation also
Raising questions on the SIT investigating the Ram Mandir issue, Akhilesh Yadav said that the entire investigation is just a whitewash. He claimed that questions have also been raised on the impartiality of the SIT and there is talk of a fraud case against one of its members. He described this entire incident as the ‘battle of Delhi and Lucknow’.
‘For BJP, money is not a priority but religion’
Akhilesh Yadav alleged that BJP changes its views according to its political interests. He said that for BJP, money and not religion is the priority. According to him, a ‘big sin’ has been committed in the Ram Mandir issue and it should be investigated impartially. He said that BJP is creating such a political tradition in which opposition leaders are targeted, this is not good for democracy and in future BJP will also be in opposition.
‘Not just the mold, the entire structure will have to be changed’
SP President Akhilesh Yadav said that there is a need to change not just the ‘pattern’ but the entire ‘structure’. According to him, the Sanatan Samaj of the country is unhappy with the present circumstances and due to the policies of the government, the people are facing inflation and other problems.
Shankaracharya expressed concern
During the meeting, Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand expressed his concern on the issues related to the protection of cow and Ram temple. On the theft of Ram Temple offerings, Shankaracharya said, ‘Big people are guilty in this whole matter… The way the irregularities came to light, after that a trust should be formed under the supervision of the government by including the religious leaders… The trust should be dissolved and all the four Shankaracharyas should be included. Apart from this, the sages and saints of Ayodhya should also join the trust.
Demand for action against Govind Dev Giri
Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaran said, ‘There is no need of administrative officers in the Trust and this attitude is also not good.’ Taking a dig at Treasurer Govind Devgiri, Shankaracharya said that he is the real culprit, because he is the Treasurer, he has the accounts of the Trust, action should also be taken against Treasurer Govind Dev Giri. Regarding Champat Rai, Shankaracharya said that he is the biggest culprit. What will he say now? Champat Rai is the real culprit.
