Not Ramayan, this is Ramanand Sagar’s show with the most episodes, remained number-1 in TRP for 21 weeks.

Ramanand Sagar Biggest Show: Now Ranbir Kapoor is bringing a big film, which is ‘Ramayana’. But whenever there is talk of ‘Ramayana’, Ramanand Sagar is remembered every time. And why not? The way he took this show to the people, it still lives in everyone’s heart. ‘Ramayan’ is undoubtedly at the top in the list of popular shows of Ramanand Sagar. But whenever it comes to the show with the highest number of episodes, the name of ‘Shri Krishna’ will come, not ‘Ramayana’. Yes, Ramanand Sagar had prepared this show, which is an adaptation of the life of Lord Krishna and is based on Srimad Bhagavatam, Brahma Vaivarta Purana, Harivansh, Vishnu Purana, Bhagavad Geeta and Mahabharata. There were more than 200 episodes in this show.

It was the year 1993, when ‘Shri Krishna’ went on air for the first time on DD METRO. This show continued till 1996. After which it was seen on DD National till 1997. But when DD refused to stream some shows. Then it was brought on Zee TV in 1999. It was even streamed on Sony Entertainment Television in 2001. This is a show which has been shown on different channels. But during the time of Covid, this show had made a different and bigger record. next to which Ramayana Doesn’t last anywhere.

‘Shri Krishna’ comes out ahead in terms of episodes

Actually the show ‘Shri Krishna’ was directed by Ramanand Sagar. Whereas, produced together with Prem Sagar and Subhash Sagar. This show, which started in 1993, had a total of 221 episodes. But when it comes to Ramayana, the show started from 1987 to 1988. In which total 78 episodes. That means clearly ‘Shri Krishna’ is far ahead in this matter. However, a big reason behind this is that the show ‘Shri Krishna’ ran for a long time.

‘Shri Krishna’ had left ‘Ramayana’ behind

The whole matter is of the lockdown period, when ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharata’ were streamed again. When the show ended, the makers re-telecasted it on DD National. Actually, this show had left ‘Ramayana’ and ‘Mahabharata’ behind in terms of TRP at that time. Of course, this show was made in Hindi, but later it was also dubbed in Telugu, Tamil and other languages. The biggest record of this show is that after going on air, it became number-1 in the TRP chart. No one could remove it from number one for 21 consecutive weeks.

Actually, Ramanand Sagar’s show ‘Shri Krishna’ had created history in DD’s ad revenue. This proved to be the show which achieved the highest ad revenue as a single show for DD. Also crossed the figure of Rs 70 crore. Which was number 1 on TRP in Metro channel. This show had printed record breaking money on DD Metro in the very first year. The figure of Rs 14.31 crore was crossed as ad revenue.
