According to the Delhi Government, the ‘Youth for Governance Unplugged’ program organized at St. Mark’s School, Janakpuri on Sunday was a success in which hundreds of students, young professionals and future leaders participated in the dialogue. The topic of the dialogue was, “Is India fully utilizing the youth power or facing a youth crisis?”
On this occasion, Education Minister Ashish Sood Said that India’s biggest strength is not just its young population, but its ability to make the youth active participants in good governance. He further said that the government is formed by a few people, but good governance is formed by the entire society. A developed India cannot be built by governments alone; for this, active participation of every citizen is necessary.
Explaining the concept of Participatory Good Governance, Sood said that good governance is not limited to government offices only, but is visible in the daily behavior of every responsible citizen.

He said that nation building is not limited to just making laws or formulating policies. When a citizen uses dustbin instead of throwing garbage on the road. Planting trees and following traffic rules, helping a neighbor, teaching a child, volunteering in social work or keeping public places clean is a kind of nation building. He called upon the youth to get out of the mindset of considering nation building as only the responsibility of the government.
Throwing light on the concept of Youth for Governance, Sood said that the aim of this initiative is to reduce the distance between youth and policy-making and to connect them meaningfully with the governance system and public institutions.
