‘Not mines, now identity will be created by minds’, Hemant Soren laid out a new vision for Jharkhand

Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the two-day National Stakeholders Consultation on Wednesday. Jharkhand government has taken a big step towards taking the state forward in the field of technology and investment. On the first day of this two-day program organized by the Department of Information Technology, Industry and Tourism in Delhi, IT, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Governance and future technologies were discussed in detail. Major IT companies, industrial sector and policy experts from India and abroad participated in this program along with CM Soren.

Inaugurating the program, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the participation of experts from various fields including IT governance, industry, tourism, education, Microsoft, Google is proof that Jharkhand is committed to creating a strong identity in the future economy. Our aim is to give new impetus to the industrial and technological progress of Jharkhand. He said that the industrial development of the country is not possible without the industrial development of Jharkhand.

‘Jharkhand has also given intellectual capital’

CM further said, ‘Jharkhand has given the country not only mineral wealth but also intellectual capital. Now we should be identified not only by ‘mines’ but by ‘minds’, not only by resources but also by research, not only by extraction (mining) but also by innovation. Also, there should be not just growth but extensive growth. Along with natural resources, we also have to give equal importance to research, innovation and knowledge based economy. Our objective is not just development, but to ensure inclusive, comprehensive and sustainable development.

CM Soren spoke on tourism

Hemant Soren said that Jharkhand not only has immense potential underground, but nature has also given us beautiful valleys above the ground, which we are preparing to advance in the field of tourism.

He further said, ‘Apart from coal and iron, our state has large reserves of minerals like uranium, due to which there is no need to search for uranium elsewhere for at least the next 100 years.’

Representatives of top companies participated in the program

In this program, representatives of the world’s top companies and technical institutions, including Microsoft and Google, shared their suggestions to strengthen the digital ecosystem in Jharkhand, promote IT investment and prepare the state as per future needs. On this occasion, concept papers of Jharkhand AI Policy, Jharkhand Investment Promotion Policy, Jharkhand Tourism Policy, Jharkhand Textile Policy, Excess Regulations and PPP Policy were presented before the stakeholders. Suggestions were sought from experts on these policies, so that they can be made more effective and investor friendly.

During the program, a Business-to-Government (B2G) dialogue was also organized between the government and industry representatives, in which the possibilities of investment and partnership in the field of IT, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Governance and modern technologies in Jharkhand were discussed in detail.

Development will get a new direction

The Chief Minister said that the Jharkhand government is committed to developing the state according to future technologies and such dialogues will play an important role in giving a new direction to the development journey of the state. He said that based on the suggestions received from the stakeholders, the government will prepare such policies which, along with attracting investment, will also give impetus to employment generation and inclusive development.
