
The Central Government has started the nomination process for the Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award (PMRBP) 2026. This national honor is given to those children who have set an example of inspiration in the society with their extraordinary talent and achievements at an early age. The last date to apply for the award has been fixed as 31st July.
Prime Minister’s National Children’s Award is India’s biggest national honour, which is given for the tremendous courage, courage and creativity of children aged 5 to 18 years. This honor is given by the President of India every year in a special ceremony in New Delhi. This award is given for outstanding achievements in six different categories: bravery, social service, environment, sports, art and culture, and science and technology.
This prestigious award ceremony is organized on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas (26 December), which is dedicated to the historic sacrifice of the Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh and their indomitable moral courage. The Government of India thus links the outstanding achievements of contemporary young talents with a timeless legacy of determination and values.
About 25 awards are given in six areas
- Bravery: This award is given to a child who shows selfless service or courage by risking his life. Apart from this, this award is given for showing extraordinary courage and bravery in adverse natural or man-made circumstances or for showing extraordinary mental fortitude, acumen and sharp intelligence in a situation of serious crisis faced by oneself and the society.
- Social Service: This award is given for demonstrating leadership ability in motivating, organizing and actively engaging the community towards the rights of women, children and others.
- Environment: This award is given for sustained efforts or notable achievements in the field of environmental issues at various levels.
- game: This award is given for continuous outstanding achievements in sports at national and international level.
- Arts and Culture: This award is given for continuous efforts for the promotion of cultural heritage and notable achievements at the national and international level in the field of art and culture, such as art, music (singing and playing), dance, painting or any other art/cultural genre.
- Science and Technology: Which includes new developments/innovations that have had a positive impact on society, have improved the quality of life or have contributed to solving real problems.
Know what are the conditions for award nomination
- Must be an Indian citizen and resident of India.
- Between 5 to 18 years of age (as on July 31, 2026).
- Must not be a previous recipient of this award in any category.
- The event, achievement or work must have occurred within the last two years from the last date of nomination, July 31, 2026
- This award is not given posthumously, but may be waived in exceptional circumstances.
- A child may be nominated for more than one category, but the committee has the discretion to accept only one application.
