Ekadashi Fasting Rules: Ekadashi fast has special significance in Hindu religion. There are a total of 24 Ekadashis in a year, but among all these, the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month is considered the most difficult. We know this as Nirjala Ekadashi. As the name suggests, Nirjala means without water. In this fast, along with food, water also has to be sacrificed. According to Drik Panchang, in the year 2026, the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi will be observed on 25th June. According to beliefs, if you are not able to observe the fast of all the 24 Ekadashis of the year, then by observing the fast of only Nirjala Ekadashi, you get equal virtue of all the Ekadashis. But there is one mistake on this great festival, if you commit it, all your virtues can be destroyed. Let us know about that big mistake and what should be avoided on this day.
Do not make these mistakes even by mistake on the day of Nirjala Ekadashi!
according to religious beliefs Nirjala Ekadashi Eating any kind of Tamasic food or consuming food on this day is considered against the rules of fasting. But the biggest mistake is considered to be that despite observing the fast, a person gets angry, misbehaves or lies or insults someone. It is said in the scriptures that fasting is not just about giving up food, but purity of mind, words and deeds is also equally important. If a person fasts the whole day, but behaves badly towards others, then he does not get the full results of the fast. Therefore, on the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, it is especially advised to stay away from anger, disputes and negative thoughts.
What things should be kept in mind on Nirjala Ekadashi?
On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, one should wake up early in the morning and worship Lord Vishnu after taking bath. Offering yellow flowers, basil leaves and bhog is considered auspicious.
