According to Drik Panchang, Ekadashi Tithi will start on June 24, 2026 at 6:12 pm and will end on June 25, 2026 at 8:09 pm. On the basis of Udayatithi, the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi will be observed on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

Auspicious time of Paran

According to Drik Panchang, Nirjala Ekadashi will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, 2026. The auspicious time of Paran will be from 5.25 am to 8.13 am. According to religious beliefs, performing Parana at an auspicious time is considered more fruitful. Therefore, devotees should break the fast within the prescribed time.

What is the importance of Parana?

According to religious beliefs, Ekadashi fast is considered to end with Paran. If a person does not perform Parana at the right time, the virtue of the fast may be reduced. Therefore Parana is considered the last and important phase of the fast. At the time of Paran, it is considered auspicious to remember Lord Vishnu, drink water and break the fast with satvik food.

Avoid spicy food

After breaking the fast, one should not consume garlic, onion, non-vegetarian, alcohol and lentils on Dwadashi. On this day, only satvik food is considered best.

Do not consider the fast complete without donating.

According to religious beliefs, the virtue of Ekadashi fast increases when the devotee donates according to his capacity. Therefore, donating food, clothes or Dakshina to needy people before or after Parana is considered auspicious.

Avoid anger and conflict

The mind should be kept calm on the day of Dwadashi. There is a religious belief that anger, quarrel and harsh words can affect the virtue of fasting.

How to celebrate Nirjala Ekadashi?

On the day of Paran, take bath in the morning and worship Lord Vishnu. After this, break the fast by taking water mixed with Tulsi or normal water. Then consume fruits, milk or vegetarian food. Keep remembering Lord Vishnu during Parana.

Religious importance of Nirjala Ekadashi

Nirjala Ekadashi is also known as Bhimseni Ekadashi. It is believed that during the Mahabharata period, Bhimsen observed this fast on the advice of Maharishi Vedvyas. Since then it is considered especially fruitful. There is a religious belief that by observing this fast as per the rituals, one gets the blessings of Lord Vishnu and brings happiness, peace and prosperity in life.
