
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday (July 7) took a major action against the human trafficking and cyber slavery racket linked to Cambodia and raided a total of 6 locations in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. During this period many important documents were seized.
According to the information, apart from one place each in Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran and East Champaran of Bihar, NIA also searched one place each in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. All these hideouts are said to be linked to the accused arrested in this case and the associates of the absconding accused.
What was found in the raid?
During the raid, NIA recovered many smartphones, laptops and other digital devices. Along with this, many important documents and objectionable materials were also seized. The entire network is being traced through forensic examination of the seized items.
The search for the mastermind continues
According to NIA, the mastermind of this international human trafficking gang is Anand Kumar Singh alias Munna Singh, who is still absconding and is being searched. It is being told that in May 2026, NIA had filed a charge sheet against Anand Kumar Singh and his four associates Prahlad Kumar Singh, Abhaynath Dubey, Abhiranjan Kumar and Rohit Yadav. Earlier in February 2026, three of Anand’s associates Abhaynath Dubey, Abhiranjan Kumar and Rohit Yadav were arrested after returning to Delhi from Cambodia.
Used to send people to Cambodia on the pretext of job
Investigation has revealed that this organized gang used to send Indian youth to Cambodia by luring them with good paying legitimate jobs abroad. After reaching Cambodia, the victims’ passports were snatched and they were handed over to fake online fraud companies. According to the investigation, the gang used to recruit unemployed and needy youth through travel agents and sub-agents in India and then send them abroad.

The victims said in their statements that they were forced to work for cyber fraud companies in Cambodia. According to the victims, if anyone refused to work, they were severely tortured. The victims told that they were given inhuman tortures like mental and physical torture, electric shocks, forced confinement, not even giving them food and water.
NIA investigation continues
NIA has said that the search for the absconding accused and other members associated with this international human trafficking and cyber slavery network is continuing. The agency is also investigating the financial and technical activities of the entire syndicate.
