Dr. Vaidyanath Ghosh Dastidar, son of rebel Trinamool Congress MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, has sent a legal notice to many big leaders of his mother’s party. Vaidyanath has sent this notice to former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and many Trinamool Congress leaders including Mahua Moitra, Kalyan Banerjee, Saugata Roy and Sonali Guha. In the notice, Vaidyanath Ghosh Dastidar has rejected the allegations in which it has been said that he had sought MLA ticket from Barasat assembly constituency.
He said that he had no political ambitions in this regard. They have also demanded that a public explanation and apology be given within fifteen (15) days of receiving the notice. He said that it should be acknowledged that he had neither sought nor desired any political nomination from Barasat assembly constituency, and any false statement made about his personal matters should be corrected.
Issue an apology within 15 days
It also alleges that I-PAC was a firm that was hired by TMC for campaign management in the recent assembly elections. People associated with this and local student leaders contacted him several times and encouraged him to participate in political activities and public health programs.
Dr. Dastidar has demanded that the people concerned should immediately stop making or repeating statements about him in political discussions and withdraw all defamatory statements. Along with this, avoid making any mention about him publicly in future and issue a public explanation and apology within 15 days.
This development has come to light amid increasing turmoil in TMC after the recent election defeat and increasing internal strife. Dr. Dastidar’s mother and senior TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has recently resigned from important organizational responsibilities in the party after leaving the post of Barasat Parliamentary District President.
