
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited Halwara International Airport in Ludhiana. During this time, Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was also present with him. Chief Minister Mann said that Sahnewal airport will be used as a pilot training center for the youth. He told that aviation centers are already functioning in Patiala and Amritsar. After getting training from here, youth are working successfully as pilots and in other airport related jobs.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Told that in future there is a plan to use Sahnewal airport for training of youth. He said that after the commencement of flights from Halwara Airport, passengers have got a lot of facilities. Punjab Government has enough land to expand the terminal and apron of this airport in future. Have talked to many passengers going from Halwara to London. Their luggage has been kept here and they will leave for their destination by another flight from Delhi.
Request to the Center regarding the name of the airport
The Chief Minister also said that three years ago a resolution was passed in the Punjab Assembly to rename Halwara Airport and dedicate it to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and letters have also been written to the Civil Aviation Ministry several times. He said that it is expected that the Central Government will soon give approval to name Halwara Airport after Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha.
Pro-incumbency wave in Punjab: Kejriwal
Meanwhile, AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal claimed that there is not an anti-incumbency wave but a pro-incumbency wave going on in Punjab. The public is very happy with the public schemes. In the upcoming assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party will win more seats, breaking all previous records. He said that the opposition parties have no problem, they keep abusing the Chief Minister day and night. He said that many meetings will be held in the coming days and the upcoming assembly elections will be reviewed.
