You already know the craze of reels, now Meta is testing a new feature for this short form video content which is becoming increasingly popular on its social media platforms Instagram and Facebook. The name of this new feature is Series, with the help of this feature you will be able to combine reels together as different episodes of the same series.
According to the report of TechCrunch, Meta will test the series feature with some specific creators. It has been said in the report that the purpose of this feature is to replace Instagram and Facebook. The company wants viewers to go beyond quick scrolling and watch linked views again and again, like a series.
The company wants to make it easier for users to find similar videos from a creator. A creator will be able to create a series with different reels that will appear on a specific series page on their profile. For example, if a creator is doing a 10-day healthy baking series, all 10 videos can be combined into one set. According to the report, you will be able to add new reels as well as old uploads to the series.
This new feature can be monetized
Meta has reportedly confirmed that ways to make money from this new feature are being considered. However, the company has not given any details yet. TikTok’s Series feature allows creators to upload premium content, for which users have to pay to access. Meta can adopt something similar here also. The company has also seen traction in serialized content, even if there is no specific section on the creator’s profile.
