India, which is becoming self-reliant in the field of defence, has today achieved another huge historic success. The country’s first 300 km range universal rocket launching system ‘Suryastra’ has been flagged off in Shirdi, Maharashtra.
On this occasion, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated a huge defense manufacturing complex of private sector company ‘NIBE Group’ in Shirdi. In this complex, cutting-edge technology like modern artillery, missiles, rocket systems and drones will be prepared for the Indian Army.
Defense Minister addressing the program Rajnath Singh Said that in today’s era, security and economy cannot be seen separately. He said, a country which makes its own weapons writes its own destiny. Self-reliance in the defense sector is not just preparation for war, but it is very important for peace, development and economic strength in the country.
The Defense Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has opened the doors of defense production to the private sector. Whereas earlier this was limited only to government factories, today the private companies of the country are doing wonders.
Target to increase private sector share to 50%
Rajnath Singh said that once upon a time the contribution of private sector in defense sector was negligible, which has today increased to about 25 to 30 percent. The government aims to increase it to 50 percent in the coming time. He said that this is ‘New India’, where private companies are not just suppliers of nuts and bolts, but are designing and manufacturing modern weapons themselves.
Referring to the Russia-Ukraine war and the situation in the Middle East (West Asia), the Defense Minister said that in the coming times, wars will not be won by the number of soldiers, but by the power of modern technology, automation and advanced ammunition. He said that India had proved its strength during ‘Operation Sindoor’. The Defense Minister made it clear that the purpose of technology is to increase the capabilities of the soldiers, but the final decision will always remain in the hands of humans.
What will be special in this complex of Shirdi?
- Suryastra Rocket System: India’s first 300 km range universal rocket launching system, which will increase the strength of the army manifold. For this, the foundation stone of a missile complex has also been laid.
- Indigenous Gunpowder Technology: During the program, India’s indigenous TNT and RDX plant technology was presented to the country.
- Satellite Assembly: A major agreement (MoU) was signed between Naib Group and Black Sky in the field of satellite assembly.
- Bio-Energy Plant: Keeping the environment in mind, a renewable compressed biogas plant was also started.
Local economy and youth will get a boost
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also praised the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Self-reliant India’ policy of the Central Government. The Defense Minister said that this defense hub of Shirdi will not only strengthen our army, but will also provide high-tech employment to the local youth through small industries (MSMEs) and vendors associated with it.
