
US President Donald Trump will attend the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner to be held on July 24. The event was initially scheduled to be held on April 25, but was postponed after a firing incident. Trump gave this information on Truth Social. He said that he has been invited to come to the program and deliver a speech and he has accepted the invitation.
During this program organized in Washington on April 25, an attacker had reached the security post. After this he opened fire with the shotgun. Trump was also present in the program at that time. The security agencies took immediate action and took Trump and his wife Melania Trump to a safe place. The program was postponed after the incident.
This time security is stronger than before
WHCA President and CBS News senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang wrote a letter to the association’s members, saying that the decision to re-organize the event was not an easy one. He said that this time the security system will be stronger than before. Besides, a new process for admission to the program will also be implemented.
Trump said that this program will be organized at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington. This hotel was first developed by Trump Organization. Although the company sold it in 2022. Weijia Jiang said that the association has raised additional funds so that people who had previously purchased tickets do not have to pay again.

This annual event has been organized for more than 100 years. This raises funds for scholarships for students studying journalism.
