
Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi inaugurated the new 3T MRI machine at the Army Hospital (R&R), New Delhi. DGAFMS Surgeon Vice Admiral Aarti Sarin and many senior army officers were present in this program. This new MRI machine is equipped with modern technology. With this, diseases related to brain, heart, cancer, bones and serious injuries will be diagnosed faster and more accurately than before. Also, patients will get more comfortable facilities. According to the Army, this new facility will provide better medical treatment to the soldiers and their families.
After the program, the Army Chief honored the organ donation families and liver transplant donors. He said that organ donation is the greatest service to humanity. General Upendra Dwivedi also appealed to soldiers, ex-servicemen and common people to come forward for organ donation. During this, famous liver transplant surgeon Dr. Subhash Gupta was given ‘Chief of Army Staff Commendation’ for his contribution to the Army’s organ transplant program.

Dr. Subhash Gupta honored
On this occasion, renowned hepato-biliary and liver transplant surgeon Dr. Subhash Gupta was awarded the COAS Commendation Card for his contribution in making the ongoing organ transplant program in the Army medical system successful.

The Army Chief praised the efforts of the Armed Forces Organ Retrieval and Transplant Authority (AORTA). It has worked to increase awareness about organ donation among soldiers and strengthen health services related to transplant. Referring to the ideal of Seva Paramo Dharma, General Dwivedi encouraged Army personnel, ex-servicemen and civilians to take the pledge of organ donation and support life-saving healthcare initiatives.
