After the results of NEET-UG 2026, many students and parents are claiming alleged irregularities in OMR sheets and scores on social media. Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that it is investigating all the complaints closely. NTA is investigating the veracity of the claims related to OMR and scores going viral on social media.
No claim can be confirmed on the basis of viral post alone. According to NTA, during the investigation many such OMR sheets have come to light which appear to be fake or prepared with the help of AI. The agency has appealed to students and parents to submit only the original OMR sheets for scrutiny.
What did NTA say?
Here all the complaints are being thoroughly investigated. Only the original OMR sheet will be accepted for scrutiny. Legal action can be taken against the complainant for submitting fake or AI prepared OMR. Students and parents have been appealed to avoid misleading claims and fake documents.
New complaints are coming to the fore. Despite the agency’s statement, many candidates are raising concerns that there is a difference between the OMR sheets available on the official portal and the answers marked by them during the examination. One of the biggest complaints is from candidate Ibtisham Nassar, who posted several messages on social media X on July 17.
I am Ibtesham Nasar, a NEET UG 2026 candidate.Based on my responses in the Re NEET 2026, I was expecting around 595 marks. However, the result declared my score to be around 60.
When NTA uploaded my OMR, I was shocked. The OMR didn’t match the answers I marked during the exam.— Ibtesham Nasar (@MahekNasar) July 17, 2026
The candidate alleges that the pattern of filling the bubbles in the uploaded OMR sheet was not the same as the one he had filled during the examination. According to the post, 12 questions which were deliberately left unanswered were shown as solved in the uploaded OMR.
