NEET paper was not leaked, we will agree when CBI says… NTA Chief’s answer to parliamentary committee’s questions

The Joint Committee of Parliament formed on issues related to the Education Ministry met on Thursday. In this, many important questions were asked to NTA Chief and DG regarding paper leak case, investigation and re-examination. Sources say that NTA Chief and DG did not accept the NEET exam as a leak in front of the parliamentary committee. Despite repeated questions from the opposition members, NTA said that the matter is being investigated by the CBI and they will consider it as a leak only when the CBI completes the investigation and calls it a leak.

Opposition MPs again raised big questions on this answer of NTA. Sources say that the MP asked, if the paper is not leaked then why the exam again? In response to this question, he said that some irregularities had come to light and this was to maintain the confidence of the students. Last time questions were also raised regarding paper leak. Committee Chairman Digvijay Singh also asked many questions to NTA.

Ruling party MPs seen supporting NTA

Amidst the questions of the opposition MPs and the answers of the NTA, the MPs of the ruling party were seen supporting the views of the NTA. Sources say that some opposition MPs demanded that the investigation report be presented before the committee. However, some MPs from the ruling party objected to this and said that CBI is an independent institution. Let him do his work.

Let us tell you that this meeting of the parliamentary committee started at 11 am and continued till 4 pm. Top officials of NTA along with senior officials of the Education Ministry were present in it. During the meeting, when questions were raised on the investigation of the leak case, NTA officials said, at present not much information can be shared on this matter, the matter is being investigated by the CBI.

What did NTA tell the committee?

Sources say that NTA told the committee that a system is being created and reviewed to ensure that no mistakes are made in future. Trusted people should be involved in the paper setting and distribution system.

NTA said that there is a discussion on conducting NEET through Computer Based Exam (CBT) platform. Future examinations may be conducted through CBT.
