May 21, 2026 by Uma Shankar

New aspects are continuously emerging in the investigation of NEET paper leak case. According to sources associated with the investigating agencies, accused Shivraj Motegaonkar and his associated network are accused of working in a very systematic and professional manner. According to initial information, students were reportedly identified on the basis of financial status and paying capacity and then parents were contacted.

Shivraj’s network worked on guarantee model

According to sources, parents were assured about the selection of their children and deals worth up to lakhs of rupees were allegedly made. This amount is said to start from Rs 5 lakh and reach Rs 30 lakh or more. Sources associated with the investigation claim that in some cases the parents were even ready to give blank cheques. Reportedly, a token amount was initially charged and the rest was paid after the examination completed the matching of questions.

Parents were ready to spend huge amount

Agency sources also say that after the examination, some parents had complained that there were differences in some parts of the so-called question bank provided to them and the actual question paper, especially in the Physics subject. According to an official associated with the investigation, children of many doctors were also studying in such institutions and the parents’ expectations regarding entry into the medical field were very high. For this reason some people were ready to spend huge amounts of money. The investigating agencies are now also investigating the role of people who are suspected of allegedly buying the paper.

Questions raised on old results of Latur also

After this matter came to light, discussions regarding the pre-examination results of Latur have also intensified. According to the data available for the year 2024, out of 24,496 students who appeared in the NEET exam from Latur, 1,245 students had scored more than 600 marks. Of these, 376 students had scored more than 650 marks, while 25 students had scored above 700 marks. Five students had secured more than 710 marks. However, no direct connection between these figures and the current investigation has been officially confirmed yet and the investigating agencies are investigating all aspects.

NEET paper reached Rajasthan from Pune

CBI investigation has revealed that the question paper of NEET was sent from Pune to Rajasthan. The investigating agency has received information that the accused from Pune sent the PDF file of the question paper through Telegram to the students of Rajasthan via Gurugram route. According to sources, a deal worth around Rs 10 lakh was made in exchange for 150 questions. People from many states are suspected to be involved in this entire network.

Now preparing for financial action against the accused

After the arrest of the main accused Shivraj Motegaonkar, interrogation has also started against those students and parents who allegedly took advantage of the leaked paper. CBI is calling and interrogating those beneficiaries whose names have come up in the interrogation of the accused. The investigating agency is trying to find out which students the question paper reached and how much money was taken for it. Now preparations for financial action have also started against the accused arrested in this case.

Investigation into the properties of the accused started

CBI and ED have started investigating the properties of the accused. The investigating agencies have sought complete details of the movable and immovable properties of the accused from the Registration and Stamp Duty Department. For the last two days, CBI officers have been reaching the departmental office and collecting information. According to officials, investigation is being done to find out where and how much property is in the name of the accused. It is believed that in the next phase of investigation, action may also be taken against illegal properties.
