NDA supported Nathwani and JMM’s Ram won in Jharkhand Rajya Sabha elections, Congress defeated.

The results of voting for two seats in Jharkhand Rajya Sabha elections have come. NDA supported independent candidate Parimal Nathwani has won one seat. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate Baidyanath Ram has won the second seat. At the same time, Congress candidate Pranab Jha has to face defeat. 3 votes were canceled during the election process. This is the fourth time that Parimal Nathwani has been elected as a member of the Upper House of Parliament. In this election he got 28 votes while the Congress candidate got only 20 votes.

There is talk in the political circles that due to cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha elections, the way for the victory of NDA-backed independent candidate Parimal Nathwani was opened. MLAs of RJD and CPI-ML could not remain united. Due to this, the Grand Alliance was played out and the Congress candidate had to face defeat.

Parimal’s first reaction after victory

After the election results came, Parimal wrote in a post, I am very grateful for getting the opportunity to serve for the fourth term as a Rajya Sabha member. This moment is very emotional for me because this will be my third term from Jharkhand. This is the land from where my parliamentary journey started in 2008. It is a matter of great pride and humility for me to return once again to my workplace.
