Nature swept away everything… havoc due to torrential rains in Jammu and Kashmir, 23 dead, see VIDEO of devastation

Jammu Kashmir Rain: Nature has wreaked havoc on Jammu and Kashmir. The torrential rains that lashed the entire state on Tuesday have wreaked havoc. Due to sudden floods and waterlogging, rivers and streams have turned violent, due to which many shops, business establishments and parked vehicles were washed away. Life has been badly affected due to water entering houses and landslides. Many hair-raising videos of this horrific disaster are also going viral on social media.

According to the data released by the authorities, the situation is continuously worsening due to rain and landslides. Due to the torrential rains that started on Sunday, 23 people have died tragically in various rain-related incidents in Poonch, Rajouri and Doda districts, while 7 people are still reported missing. Two people trapped in the middle of the swollen river in Kathua district were rescued and brought out safely with the help of disaster management and local police.

Till now, hundreds of people have been safely evacuated from the flood affected areas of Jammu division and taken to safe places and relief camps. Administration and disaster response teams (SDRF/NDRF) are monitoring the situation round the clock.

Shops closed in Budgam, rivers in spate in Kashmir valley

The effect of rain is being seen widely in Jammu division as well as Kashmir valley. Due to heavy rains on Tuesday in Budgam district, the water level of a local drain suddenly increased due to which many shops built on the banks of the drain were washed away in the strong current. Moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded in most parts of Kashmir Valley, due to which the water level of all major rivers, reservoirs and water streams including Jhelum has reached near the danger mark.

Pilgrimages postponed for the third day, administration on alert

The state administration has taken strict steps from security point of view. In view of the threat of continuous rains, landslides at various places and flash floods, all major religious pilgrimages of Jammu and Kashmir have been postponed for the third consecutive day as a precautionary measure. People living in sensitive and low-lying areas have been advised to move to safe places. Police, administration and relief agencies are fully prepared to deal with every situation.
