Namo Bharat train will run from Delhi to Alwar, journey will be completed in 100 minutes

May 22, 2026 by Uma Shankar

To reduce the problem of rapidly increasing traffic and long journey in Delhi-NCR, the Central Government has prepared a proposal for Delhi-Alwar Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor. This high-speed rail project will further strengthen the connectivity between Delhi, Gurugram, Haryana and Rajasthan. After completion of the project, the journey from Gurugram to Alwar can be completed in about 100 minutes. At present this journey by road takes a lot of time.

Which cities will get the benefit?

This corridor, about 91 kilometers long, will start from Sarai Kale Khan Multimodal Transit Hub in Delhi. After this it will reach Gurugram via INA, Munirka and Aerocity. In Gurugram, this line will connect major areas like Cyber City, IFFCO Chowk, Rajiv Chowk and Hero Honda Chowk. After this the corridor will reach Alwar via Khedki Daula, Manesar, Panchgaon, Bilaspur Chowk, Dharuhera, Rewari, Bawal, Neemrana and Behror. A total of 22 stations are planned to be built in this project. Of these, five stations will be underground while the remaining stations will be elevated and built at ground level.

The cost will be more than Rs 37 thousand crores

According to PIB, the estimated cost of this project has been kept at around Rs 37,539 crore. The entire corridor will be spread over an area of approximately 164 kilometers. The same modern rapid rail technology will be used in it which is currently being used in Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor. High-speed trains will take passengers to their destinations in much less time than roadways.

When will the construction work start?

At present, the detailed project report (DPR) of this project is being prepared. The construction work will be started after getting approval from the Central and concerned state governments. According to officials, this is a big infrastructure project, so it may take a few years to complete. However, efforts are being made to speed up the process of land acquisition and planning.

Industry and real estate will get a boost

Experts believe that the Delhi-Alwar RRTS corridor will accelerate economic activities in the NCR region. Investment and business are expected to increase due to better connectivity to industrial areas like Bhiwadi and Neemrana. Apart from this, lakhs of passengers traveling between Delhi, Gurugram and Rajasthan every day can get great relief from traffic and long journeys.
