‘My fake video is being played for political gains’, CM Bhagwant Mann said after the controversy

June 25, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his views regarding his alleged viral video through a press conference on Wednesday. He said that for the last few days, my fake video is being played for political gains, I am being defamed religiously. CM said that every day they give some order or the other which will defame me religiously, these people cannot compete with me politically, hence they are using religion.

In the press conference, Bhagwant Mann said that on the basis of this video, people holding religious positions are issuing orders and orders against me at the behest of their masters, so that I can be defamed religiously. He further said, ‘Get the investigation done from anywhere, I am not in that video. Congress is saying, boycott Mann, Congress demolished Akal Takht. All three fronts have been formed against me, Akalis are guilty of sacrilege. Congress bombed the Akal Takht.

‘Why posters were not put up against Sukhbir Badal’

He said, ‘Posters are being put up against me outside the Gurudwaras at the behest of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, but why were these posters not put up against Sukhbir Badal, who had confessed his mistakes in front of Akal Takht Sahib. This proves why Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee is doing this. Congress, BJP and Akali Dal have opened a common front against me. They are not able to tolerate the crowd of people of Punjab accompanying me.

Clarification given on alleged video

Giving clarification on the alleged video, the CM said, ‘I am presenting before you the truth of this video. Let me show you this video, in which an influencer is telling that a young man who looks like me is wearing my mask and showing the video. There is a cut mark on my face near my neck from the age of 5, when I had an operation. This mark has been on my neck since childhood, which is not in this video. Perhaps the person who made this video forgot this. In the video, the young man wearing a mask has glasses on his eyes because he cannot blink while wearing a mask. That is why this young man is wearing glasses.

The funding behind the video will be revealed later

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann alleged that the same person had earlier also made a mask similar to that of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. He claimed that the funding behind the video will be revealed in the coming days. He further said that the video will also be sent to Akal Takht Sahib and he leaves the decision to Guru Nanak Naam Leva Sangat.
