‘MP sold for Rs 50 crore’… If you have the guts then show it by contesting elections again, Raut’s open challenge to rebel Sanjay Deshmukh

June 28, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Six MPs of Shiv Sena (UBT) switched sides and joined Shinde faction, which has dealt a big blow to the party. Due to this incident, the politics of Maharashtra is also in discussion these days. Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray is continuously targeting the leaders who rebelled against the party. Meanwhile, the statement of party MP Sanjay Raut has come to light. He launched a scathing attack on Yavatmal-Washim Lok Sabha constituency MP Sanjay Deshmukh and challenged him to resign and get the mandate again.

Actually, Sanjay Deshmukh is also among the 6 MPs who have joined Shinde’s army. Addressing a huge public meeting at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) complex in Yavatmal on Saturday, Raut compared the defection to the transactions taking place in the market.

‘Your MPs were sold for Rs 50 crores…’

He said, ‘This meeting is being held in the APMC premises. Here the produce of the farmers comes and is sold, although they do not get much price for it. But 15 days ago a product came here and your MPs were sold for Rs 50 crore! Raut sarcastically said, ‘To be honest, no one buys them even for Rs 500 in this market. Uddhav Saheb made him an MP, put a saffron shawl on his shoulders, hence his worth became Rs 50 crore. He will not be worth even Rs 5 in the next election.

‘PM could not develop the country in 12 years’

Sanjay Raut targeted the tenure of Prime Minister Modi on the argument of rebels switching sides for development funds. He said ‘he went for the development fund’ development fund!. I want to develop my constituency. What kind of development will you do? PM Modi could not develop this country in 12 years. Go and see PM’s Varanasi – there are no roads, no water, no bridges there.

Raut gave open challenge to rebel leader

Raut openly challenged the rebel leader. He said that if he has confidence in his decision then he should resign and face the public again. He said, ‘If you want to betray, then resign, contest elections again, and then you will know whether the people of Yavatmal-Washim are with the traitors or the loyalists. This sea of loyalists will not rest until it washes away these traitors.

‘Shiv Sena will rise again from the ashes’

Raut claimed that despite the division in 2022, the party will rise from the ashes and maintain its hold on Maharashtra. He said, ‘Shiv Sena will remain in its place and will once again march towards the Indian Assembly and Lok Sabha. The saffron flag of Shiv Sena will continue to fly over Yavatmal.

6 MPs changed sides

This statement of Raut has come at a time when on Monday, six Shiv Sena (UBT) Lok Sabha MPs Sanjay Haribhau Jadhav, Bhausaheb Rajaram Wakchore, Omprakash Bhupal Singh Nimbalkar, Sanjay Dina Patil, Sanjay Uttam Rao Deshmukh and Nagesh Bapurao Patil Ashtikar formally joined the Eknath Shinde faction. Due to which Operation Tiger Tiger was successful. With this development, the number of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in the Lok Sabha reduced to three MPs and Shiv Sena (UBT) suffered another major blow after the split in the party in 2022.
