MP-MLA rebel, amount of Rs 440 crore also stuck… What will be the future of Mamata Banerjee, how will the door open?

July 9, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Zulfe Bengal and Hujjate Bengal are called Bengalis. They may sometimes clash with someone. It is his habit to get upset over small things. Even if they have to suffer the consequences of this. The same situation has now happened with former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Now all avenues have been closed for them. He has spoiled his relations with the Center and his grudge against Congress is old. She came into government only after fighting with the Left parties and then ran the government continuously for 15 years. But not only did he face a crushing defeat in the 2026 assembly elections, but the party also broke. The account of his party Trinamool Congress (TMC) was also seized. Now he has neither money, nor party, nor people, nor any shepherd. In their stubbornness, they have caused such misery for themselves that there is no sympathy left for them.

He locked all the windows himself

There is an English proverb that when all the windows and doors of a room are closed, then one window opens. But Mamata Banerjee herself has locked herself. Now how can any window or door open? Mamata Banerjee has been called the lioness of Bengal and she was a lioness too. He single-handedly uprooted the 34-year-old Left government of West Bengal. He also fought the battle with the Left Front in his own style. The Left Front had raised an army of such youth in West Bengal, who would hang out all day long and collect money at the behest of the CPI(M). But still CPI(M) was an honest party compared to other political parties. No one is unnecessarily implicated in his rule. Efforts were made to ensure that common people also get some share of the profits of the wealthy.

Mamata’s cadre had become chaotic

CPI(M) had made a good strategy for this. Industries may have been closed, but if you hired any employee, it was mandatory for him to pay his salary for 13 months in a year. One month was considered his bonus. Even the domestic servants had to pay an extra month’s salary as a bonus on Pooja. TMC also prepared a similar group of mastans. Who would extort money from the people in the same way and would be ready to fight and die for Mamata Banerjee. But this army of Mamata did not have any principles behind itself. If the Left Front government has to be removed, there should be some logic behind it. Politics does not work without principles and logic. If this happens then it will become an army of anarchists. You are either leftist or rightist. If nothing else, there should be a middle path.

Defeat of a very ambitious leader but the aim of Mamata’s politics was only to remove the Left Front. No matter how many hardships had to be done for this, Mamta was ready for everything. He neither had patience nor trust in anyone. Mamta, who started her political career from the student wing of Congress, became popular when she created a ruckus in front of Jai Prakash Narayan’s car against him. From 1976 to 1980, she was the General Secretary of West Bengal Mahila Congress. Four years later, in the 1984 Lok Sabha elections, Congress gave her ticket from Jadavpur seat and she reached Parliament by defeating veteran CPI(M) leader Somnath Chatterjee. In the same year she also became the General Secretary of All India Youth Congress. But in the 1989 Lok Sabha elections, CPI(M)’s Malini Bhattacharya defeated him from Jadavpur seat.

Mamta dominated the media

In the 1991 elections, she reached the Lok Sabha by winning from Kolkata South seat. After this, she made Kolkata South seat her stronghold and was elected MP from this seat for five consecutive times. Whereas, in the meantime, in 1997, he had a clash with West Bengal State Congress President Somen Mitra and he left the Congress and formed his new party All India Trinamool Congress (TMC). His initial partner was Mukul Roy. Mamata Banerjee clashed with the West Bengal government over a disabled girl in such a way that she got a lot of coverage in the national media. Similarly, on 11 December 1998, he grabbed the collar of Samajwadi Party MP Daroga Prasad Rai inside the Lok Sabha and dragged him out of the well. Inspector Prasad was making noise against women’s reservation.

unprecedented success of 2011

This domineering image of Mamta continued to strengthen her. At her convenience, she sometimes made compromises with the BJP-led NDA or the Congress-led UPA. They immediately got the benefits of these agreements. She herself remained a minister at the Center and also kept getting her supporters elected. But gradually she kept losing the trust of both these national parties. His biggest success was defeating the Left Front government of Buddhadeb Bhattacharya in 2011. She won the assembly elections with an overwhelming majority and became the Chief Minister. This was both his success and failure. As soon as he came to power, his supporters started looting the state. Because with them there was more number of that class which had developed the habit of eating without reducing anything. The Left Front still maintained discipline but Mamata could not control her cadre.

The party disintegrated after the defeat

There were so many stories of corruption, anarchy, women’s safety, sexual misconduct that Mamata Banerjee came down with a bang. They got only 80 seats in the 2026 elections. Whereas BJP formed the government by winning 208 seats. But Mamata Banerjee’s tantrums were such that she did not even resign from the post of Chief Minister. Finally the Governor administered the oath of office to Shubhendu Adhikari as the Chief Minister. Then he had to step down from the throne. After this a stampede started in his party. It is said that about 60 MLAs of his party have left TMC. Mamta has only 15 MLAs as of today. Five are still silent. Similarly, the number of 22 TMC MPs in Parliament is also decreasing rapidly. About 20 MPs are not with Mamata today.

Neither account is saved nor flowed!

On July 8, Mamata conducted the floor test in Kolkata. But here too she lost her temper and slapped one of her supporters. His video is becoming very viral. On the other hand, ED has frozen the accounts of Mamata Banerjee’s TMC. In this way an amount of Rs 440 crore has got stuck. On the other hand, the election symbol and recognition of Mamata Banerjee’s party is also in danger with the Election Commission. However, Mamata Banerjee faction has filed its letter of clarification. But in the circumstances that are developing, Mamata Banerjee is looking weak and the main reason for this is Mamata’s arrogance, by not being able to control her anger, she has angered every party. Big leaders of his own party are unhappy with his behaviour. In such a situation, nothing can be said as to what Mamta’s future will be.
