The district administration has clarified the factual situation regarding the proposed 100 bedded civil hospital in Khajrana, Indore. Based on the detailed report received by Collector Shivam Verma from the Chief Medical and Health Officer, it has been said that the main reason for the delay in the construction of the hospital is the actual transfer of the land allotted to the Health Department. It has also been clarified that the human resources appointed for the hospital are currently being utilized in other health institutions of the city in the public interest. No medicine or equipment has been purchased so far in the name of the hospital.
According to the district administration, survey number 435/1/1 Packi, area 0.700 hectare land located in village Khajrana was allotted to the Health Department for the construction of a civil hospital. However, the actual possession and transfer of the concerned land has not yet been received by the Health Department. It was told that at present the said land is being used by the Municipal Corporation Indore, due to which the process of construction of the hospital building has not been started.
No order regarding administrative approval received
In the meeting held on July 6, Collector Shivam Verma assured the Chief Medical and Health Officer that action would be taken to remove encroachment from the land allotted for the Civil Hospital and make it available to the Health Department. After completion of the land transfer process, necessary action will be taken to obtain administrative approval for the construction of the building by completing the formalities of land allotment for the 100 bedded civil hospital.
At present the Health Department has not received any order regarding administrative approval for the construction of the hospital building. Therefore, building construction work cannot be started yet.
Doctor’s posting orders not issued from any level
According to the information given by the Chief Medical and Health Officer, a total of 87 posts were sanctioned for Khajrana Civil Hospital in the year 2021 by the Public Health and Family Welfare Department of Madhya Pradesh Government. Of these, 29 staff nurses, 5 pharmacists and 1 lab technician have been posted so far.
Since the hospital building does not yet exist and the institution has not been made functional, in view of the increased need for health services after Covid-19, these employees are being taken to serve in various government health institutions of the city.
The district administration has clarified that these employees have been allotted work in various hospitals and health institutions as per the requirement and they are being paid salaries as per the rules. Certification of their work has also been provided by the institution in-charges of the institutions where these employees are working.
It has also been clarified that at present no orders for posting of any doctor for Civil Hospital Khajrana have been issued from any level.
Work will be done as per government rules and prescribed procedure
The district administration has clarified that all the work related to the hospital project will be done as per the rules and prescribed procedure of the government. Only after the land is transferred to the Health Department and administrative approval for the construction of the building is obtained, further action will be started towards the construction of 100 bedded Civil Hospital Khajrana.
