Government Hospital Negligence: A newborn baby girl and her mother died tragically due to negligence of the government hospital in Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana. The surprising thing is that scissors were found in the bones of the woman, which has raised questions on the simple death of the woman. Taking action in this matter, the Health Department has suspended the Medical Officer of Gundla. Also, orders have been given to investigate the matter.
Pregnant Chatla Vanaja (21) of Shambhunigudem village of Gundala mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district started labor pain on June 13 (Sunday). The family took her to Gundala Government Hospital for delivery. Since there was no doctor available there, the staff nurse conducted a normal delivery. The condition of the newborn girl was not improving, so she was taken to Illendu Hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had died.

Vanaja also died on the way to Khammam due to excessive bleeding. Celebrating a simple death, the family performed the last rites of Vanaja and her daughter on the same evening (Monday). As part of the customs, family members and villagers who reached there on Thursday morning found scissors used in surgery from the woman’s bones. Doctors say that the delivery of the baby was normal and the woman died due to excessive bleeding.
Did the mother and daughter die due to negligence?
The family of the deceased is objecting that when everything was normal then how did the scissors reach there? It is believed that while applying cotton to stop the bleeding, the medical staff might have forgotten or missed the scissors inside. The discovery of scissors from the woman’s bones is proof that the doctors were seriously negligent in the case of the mother and the newborn girl, which led to her tragic death.
medical officer suspended
When the victim’s family sought clarification from Gundala Medical Officer Sudeep regarding the death of the mother and the newborn baby, he said that the delivery of the baby was normal and he did not know how the scissors reached there. Following a complaint by the family members to the DMHO, officials on Thursday issued an order to suspend Sudeep.
