Curd is a probiotic rich food, eating which supports gut health. Apart from this, it also helps in improving the mood. If you consume curd daily, it helps in reducing the bacteria that increase anxiety. You can consume it as plain, raita or lassi. 

Leafy vegetables are rich in magnesium. Consuming these helps in keeping one's addictions calm and the hormones that increase stress also remain balanced. You can eat them as a stuffing for vegetables, pulses or parathas. Along with magnesium, Vitamin B and fiber are also found in abundance in them, which helps in keeping the body energetic for a long time. 
Eating soaked almonds is considered very beneficial. This is an excellent source of magnesium. Apart from this, healthy fats and Vitamin E are also found in it. Apart from this, walnuts which are a good source of plant based Omega 3 should also be included in your diet. Eating a handful of these daily improves the level of serotonin in the body, which keeps the mood good, and also helps in reducing the level of cortisol, the stress hormone. 
Turmeric is commonly used in Indian homes. An element called curcumin is found in this spice, which helps in reducing swelling related to stress and tension. You can consume it by adding it to pulses, turmeric milk or vegetables. Also, taking turmeric with black pepper improves its absorption in the body. 
Amla is rich in nutrients. Vitamin C and antioxidants are found in it, which helps in reducing oxidative stress. You can also eat it directly. Apart from this, it can also be consumed in the form of juice, jam or pickle. 

Light and easily digestible pulses like moong provide tryptophan to the body, which helps in producing serotonin. Besides, the fiber present in them maintains better intestinal health. Khichdi or plain lentils and rice with vegetables is a nutritious and comforting food, which can also help in reducing stress. 

Ripe banana also helps in stabilizing blood sugar and improving mood. Apart from this, you can also eat fruits like guava and orange. Along with Vitamin C, they are rich in many other nutrients, which can prove beneficial for the body.
