After America, Iran has also ratified the peace agreement amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi has confirmed the peace agreement with America. He said Tehran would join the proposed 60-day negotiation process for a final agreement only if it confirms Washington’s commitments regarding ending hostilities, lifting the blockade and releasing Iranian assets.
US President Donald Trump has announced the completion of the peace agreement between Washington and Tehran and the removal of the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iran’s state Press TV, Gharibabadi said that the official signing of the agreement will take place on Friday, after which the draft of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be made public.
Iran achieved a big victory in the war
He said that the enemy which attacked to fulfill its nefarious intentions suffered defeat in all its goals, and Iran achieved a major victory in the war. This agreement is not only the result of diplomacy, but it is also indebted to Iran’s military achievements. He said that it is indebted to the sacred blood of those martyrs who sacrificed their lives while facing the enemies of the system.
Text of MoU will be released after signing
After the official signing, the text of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be released. The official signing will take place on Friday, and the heads of both delegations will discuss finalizing future arrangements for talks, Garibabadi said. He said that before moving to the next phase of negotiations, Iran will investigate whether America has fulfilled its responsibilities related to ending the war, lifting the blockade and releasing assets.
Advice to America to keep its promises
According to Press TV, Garibabadi said, starting 60 days of talks depends on the US fulfilling these promises. Gharibabadi said Iran has included all its main points in the draft memorandum of understanding and stressed that the document should not be seen as a sign of confidence in Washington.
According to Al Jazeera report, he said, this MoU does not mean trusting the enemy. We will keep an eye on the implementation of the promises made by America. This statement came when US President Trump announced the completion of the peace agreement between Washington and Tehran.
What did Trump say on the agreement?
In a post on ‘Truth Social’, Trump wrote, the agreement with Iran is now complete. Greetings to all! I hereby approve the opening of the Strait of Hormuz without any charges and also the immediate removal of the US Navy blockade. Ships around the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow begin!
