Microsoft has introduced its most powerful laptop till date, Surface Laptop Ultra. This laptop has been created in partnership with Nvidia and has been specially designed keeping in mind creators, developers and AI professionals. Blackwell RTX GPU and Nvidia RTX Spark superchip have been used in it. The company claims that this device can easily handle heavy AI models, 3D rendering and complex computing tasks. It has up to 128GB unified memory and full CUDA support, which makes it very powerful.
Display and Design
Surface Laptop Ultra has a 15-inch Mini LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen display. This display supports peak HDR brightness of up to 2000 nits, which provides excellent visibility even outdoors. According to the company, this is the brightest surface display ever. It has 262 PPI pixel density which gives high quality color accuracy. In terms of design, it comes with premium finish and has been designed for professional use. Microsoft has introduced it with a strong and repair friendly design so that its parts can be easily replaced if needed.
Performance and AI power
This laptop has Nvidia’s Blackwell RTX GPU which makes it a high end performance machine. It has a combination of Nvidia Grace CPU with 6144 CUDA cores and Fifth Generation Tensor core. The company claims that this device can provide AI compute power up to 1 petaflop. Through this, local AI models with up to 120 billion parameters can be run. It has come with full CUDA support for the first time in a Surface device. Its focus is especially on AI research, software development and heavy computing tasks.
Features and Connectivity
Surface Laptop Ultra has up to 128GB of unified memory which can dynamically distribute resources between the CPU and GPU. The thermal system has also been upgraded in it, which gives 2.5 times more capacity than the previous model. For connectivity, it has HDMI port, USB Type C, USB Type A, SD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack. It also includes Microsoft’s largest haptic touchpad. Windows Hello facial recognition support is available for security. The company has designed it in such a way that it can easily meet future AI workloads and professional needs.
