
Narendra Modi has made the record of being the Prime Minister for the longest continuous period in independent India. In this matter, PM Modi has left Jawaharlal Nehru behind. Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the first time on 26 May 2014, for the second time on 30 May 2019 and for the third consecutive time on 9 June 2024. The mega record of working in power for the longest consecutive days in independent India has now been registered in the name of PM Modi.
On 13 May 1952, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru became the Prime Minister of the country. Nehru remained the Prime Minister of the country from then till 27 May 1964. Exactly 4,398 days. Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the first time on 26 May 2014. He has been the Prime Minister continuously since then. PM Modi has gone ahead of Jawaharlal Nehru in terms of continuously being the elected Prime Minister of the country.
PM Modi has already left former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi behind in this matter. Narendra Modi has broken Indira Gandhi’s record of being PM for 4077 consecutive days on July 25, 2025. At the same time, under Modi rule, the country’s economy has crossed Rs 357 lakh crore. In the last 12 years, 16 AIIMS, 7 IIT and 8 IIM were created i.e. a total of 31 educational institutions were created. Under Modi rule, the country’s defense budget has reached Rs 7 lakh 85 thousand crores. Manufacturing of indigenous weapons has crossed Rs 1 lakh 54 thousand crore.
Due to the visionary decisions of the Prime Minister, India has not only become strong but is also becoming self-reliant. At present, India is making 60 percent of its weapons itself. Now India has become an arms exporter and not an importer. PM Modi played a big role in giving global recognition to India. Jawaharlal Nehru had addressed only 3 foreign parliaments, but PM Modi has so far addressed the parliaments of 19 countries. Not only this, Modi has visited 80 countries 100 times. 32 countries of the world have honored PM Modi. These figures are proof that under the leadership of PM Modi, India has emerged as a new international power.
