
The main program of International Yoga Day 2026 will be organized in Kolkata this time. Union Minister of State for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav announced this. He told that this year the theme of Yoga Day has been kept as Yoga for increasing healthy life. Every year, lakhs of people not only in the country but also in foreign countries participate enthusiastically in Yoga Day.
Union Minister of State for AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav made this announcement during the Yoga Mahotsav 2026 organized at Khajuraho Group Memorial, a famous tourist destination in Madhya Pradesh. Here thousands of people participated in the common yoga protocol and did mass yoga.

‘Yoga is very important to stay healthy’
In the program, Jadhav said that yoga is not just an exercise, but an ancient knowledge tradition of India, which helps in keeping both body and mind healthy. He said that yoga is very important to stay fit and healthy in old age. In such a situation, everyone should do yoga. This will keep your health good.

‘Khajuraho can become a center of yoga and wellness’
Along with this, he also said that Khajuraho can become a global center of yoga and wellness in future because of its cultural and spiritual heritage.

On this occasion, the government also launched ‘Yoga Sangam Portal’ and ‘Yoga Park Portal’. Along with this, a new yoga T-shirt design was also presented in the program. According to the ministry, so far more than two lakh people have participated in the 100-day free yoga training under the Yoga 365 campaign.

During this, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said in a video message that both Yoga and Khajuraho are important symbols of India’s cultural identity and the new generation is increasingly making Yoga a part of their daily routine.

A large number of yoga lovers participated in the Yoga Mahotsav 2026 program and collectively demonstrated the Common Yoga Protocol. The Ministry of AYUSH called it a big step towards better health and fitness through yoga. This event raises awareness about physical and mental health. International Yoga Day, celebrated on 21st June, is celebrated every year across India and the world.
