At such a time, Madhya Pradesh’s Sports and Youth Welfare and Cooperation Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang has set an inspiring example by turning the memory of his parents into a campaign of public service, values and social consciousness.
“Matru-Pitru Bhakti Diwas” started by Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang is now becoming not just an event but a national public campaign especially connecting the youth with Indian culture, family values and spirit of service. On June 2, on the birth anniversary of Kailash Narayan Sarang, Mother-Father Devotion Day was celebrated across the country with reverence, respect and service. On this occasion, Sarang_Matri_Pitri_Bhakti_Divas kept trending on social media for several hours. Thousands of youth respected their parents and elders of the area and shared their photos and videos.
Amazing confluence of service, respect and values
On the call of Minister Sarang, the youth participated enthusiastically in service work for three consecutive days. Programs like honoring elders, distributing sherbet to passers-by, blood donation camps, free health check-up camps and tree plantation were organized in various areas of the country including the state. The minister himself revived the tradition of service and reverence inherent in Indian culture by washing the feet of the elderly, performing aarti and paying their respects. The elders were overwhelmed by this honor and blessed him.

Sarang said that today there is a need that the young generation should come out of the virtual world of mobile and social media and understand the responsibility towards their family and society. There is no religion, no penance and no virtue greater than serving parents. If the youth adopt the spirit of respect and service towards their parents, then the values, sensitivity and family unity in the society will automatically be strengthened.
