Police has issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) against alleged mastermind Bijendra Gupta and his associate Kapil Dahiya, who are absconding in the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET-2026) paper leak case. DCP Pawan Bansod confirmed this and said that all legal procedures have been completed for the arrest of these two accused. According to the police, before the examination on June 27, the Kongaon police took action and arrested three accused.
Based on the facts revealed in the preliminary investigation, the scope of investigation was expanded, after which LOC was issued against Bijendra Gupta and Kapil Dahiya when their alleged role came to light. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case is continuously conducting raids in many states including Maharashtra. The investigating agencies are investigating the possible locations of both the accused, their financial transactions, contact sources and interstate networks.
Focus of investigation on printing press of Agra
The focus of the investigation is also on the printing press located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, where the question papers of TET-2026 were allegedly printed. SIT is trying to find out through what means the question paper reached from Agra to Delhi and then to Mumbai and who were the people involved in this entire network. According to police sources, Bijendra Gupta is originally a resident of Samastipur district of Bihar. His name has already surfaced in paper leak cases of various competitive examinations. It is being told that he has been arrested earlier in the Odisha JE (Civil Main) exam paper leak case and he is currently on bail. The police is also collecting official documents of related cases against him.
Investigative agencies believe that after the arrest of Bijendra Gupta and Kapil Dahiya, many big revelations can be made related to the interstate paper leak network. At present, joint teams of Thane Police and SIT are continuously taking action in search of both the absconding accused.
