Bengal had already slipped from Mamata Banerjee’s hands, now her party has also slipped away from her. But no one had even thought that all this would happen within just one month. That Mamata, who had ended the 34-year-old Left rule in one fell swoop, lost everything without a government. For those who know Mamata and have seen her rise since 1984, it is difficult to digest the reality that this lioness of Bengal was killed so soon. Similarly, similar rise and fall of Mayawati also happened in Uttar Pradesh. But neither could anyone take the reins of her party from Mayawati’s hands nor could make a dent in her vote bank. Even today, Mayawati is in control of her vote bank in the same way as the Mulayam family is in SP. This is the difference between the caste society of Uttar Pradesh and the gentry of Bengal.
‘Mastan culture’ drowned Mamta
Mamata Banerjee may have been projected as the lioness of West Bengal, but the truth is that she made a lot of noise but did no work at the ground level. He did not even make any effort to save his party. He had no vote bank nor did he care about the industrialization of Bengal. On the contrary, he also destroyed the path on which his predecessor Buddhadeb Bhattacharya was walking. Today there is neither industry nor trade left in Kolkata, nor have any major steps been taken to protect the interests of the farmers there. He promoted carrom clubs and Mastan culture which arose from leftist culture in West Bengal. She had come to create her own culture parallel to this culture. The result was that this body of Mamta became a burden for the general public and the party.
Obstacle in the path of Buddhadeb’s reform
The reason for Mamta’s drowning was the parallel network of goons created by her. The Left parties had a vision, a principle and they followed it for 24 years. But after Jyoti Basu, when Buddhadeb Bhattacharya became the Chief Minister from the Left Front in 2000, his entire emphasis was on strengthening the economy of the state. He also tried for this but Mamta became a hindrance in his efforts. The atmosphere was such that in 2011, their government was defeated and Mamata Banerjee became the Chief Minister of Trinamool Congress. But Mamata Banerjee’s government could last only for 15 years. The courage of the Left Front had been shattered and it was Mamata who had ruined the Congress. In such a situation, the result was to be this. BJP reached there in 2016 and got only three seats in the assembly of 294. BJP’s account will be 77 in 2021 and BJP will get absolute majority in 2026.
Challenged the Center on the strength of police administration
BJP limited Mamata Banerjee’s TMC to just 80 seats in the 2026 assembly elections. Even after this, instead of understanding the reality, Mamta kept talking nonsense. He never thought that in politics, making the cadre free from fear is the first condition, but the Mastans nurtured by him looted the cadre too. His nephew Abhishek Banerjee used to patronize such goon elements. Instead of making the police and administration impartial, distribute big posts in the police and administration to your loyal people. Rajiv Kumar and Shantanu are proof of this. Mamta made her state parallel to the central government. When the Center conducted a CBI investigation into any allegation against the West Bengal government, the CBI officers were arrested. As a result, the political base of his party started eroding. Today they are forced to suffer the consequences of this.
Ritabrata Banerjee’s rebellion
Now, no matter how many ifs and buts one says, the truth is that Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC is now entangled in the web of its own making. Mamta Banerjee continued considering herself the Chief Minister even after the assembly election results were out. Despite his party’s crushing defeat, he did not submit his resignation to the Governor. BJP even got its Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari crowned but Mamata’s arrogance did not loosen. After this, as a rule, TMC had to elect its leader in the assembly so that the leader of opposition could be declared. Initially the party kept dilly-dallying on this issue. Last week, in the meeting held for the post of leader in the party assembly, the issue of fake signatures of some MLAs came to light. TMC MLAs Ritabrata Banerjee and Sandipan Saha complained about this. It was said that how were the signatures of the MLAs who did not attend the meeting get signed?
Mamta has only one fourth MLAs
Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari got this allegation investigated by CID. As soon as this was known, TMC expelled both of them from the party. After this the voices of rebellion increased further. 58 TMC MLAs have written a letter to the Assembly Speaker requesting him to elect Ritabrata Banerjee as the leader of their legislative party. Obviously, in such a situation, what will Mamata Banerjee do with 22 members? He will not have a party. There is a lot of anger among the remaining MLAs about Mamata. The worst situation happened when only 35 MLAs turned up for the TMC protest on Wednesday, June 3. Rebel MLAs say that Mamata Banerjee should now play the role of guide.
TMC workers also angry with Mamata
In a way, more than half of the MLAs are angry with the party leadership. Most of the party leaders say that instead of protesting against the current government at the Center and the state, the party should go among the people. Raised the problems of the general public. But Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek are singing only one tune that the assembly elections have been rigged. He was defeated on 135 seats. Mamata Banerjee is blaming this on the Chief Election Commissioner and the central forces. She forgets that the public and TMC people were angry with her ineffective administration.
defamed the police also
This is the reason why the Bengali gentry are also heaving a sigh of relief with his departure. An officer of Kolkata Police, on the condition of anonymity, said that during the time of Mamata Banerjee, we had to harass people unnecessarily at the behest of the superiors. We were not able to make any allegations against him in the court. As a result, the accused would be released from the court and he would become our enemy. Not only this, CB-CID is so powerful in Uttar Pradesh that hundreds of policemen found guilty in its investigation are in jail. But in West Bengal, every police department worked at the behest of Abhishek Banerjee. That is why when people attacked Abhishek Banerjee last week, no one came to save him. He was beaten with shoes and slippers and rotten eggs were thrown on his face. Abhishek Banerjee had turned an advanced and educated state like West Bengal into the most corrupt state.
Lost political ground too!
There is no doubt that militant politicians like Mamata Banerjee have reduced in the country. He fought the entire struggle with honesty and simplicity, but as soon as he came to power, his party broke all records of corruption. He did all sorts of things to hide his nephew’s conduct. Perhaps this is the reason why Mamata lost her assembly elections from Bhawanipur. Today he also had a falling out with Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray. No one will hesitate in accepting BJP’s hand in breaking Uddhav’s party. But Mamata Banerjee lost due to her own mistakes. In this way, her party was brought into the abyss by the same people whom Mamata had knowingly nurtured. It cannot be said when Mamta’s TMC will break completely, but the moment it breaks, Mamta will have neither votes, notes nor political land.
The benefit will go to BJP’s account
Even though BJP may not have a direct hand in this break, BJP will benefit from the possible break of TMC. Currently TMC has 29 Lok Sabha members and 13 in Rajya Sabha. Since Mamta will have neither the election symbol nor the party flag left in the party, these MPs can also join the ruling party. Modi government has 240 members in the Lok Sabha, so TMC’s 29 members will prove to be a boon for it.
