
The Maharashtra government has decided to make teaching of Marathi language compulsory from class 1 to class 10 in all mediums and schools affiliated to all education boards in the state. The government has made it clear that a special investigation campaign will be conducted in the entire state to ensure strict compliance with this order. If it is found that Marathi language is not being taught compulsorily in any school, then strict action will be taken against the concerned officials. State School Education Minister Dada Bhuse gave this information in the Assembly on Monday.
This issue was raised by BJP MLA Atul Bhatkhalkar through a question in the Assembly. During the discussion, many other MLAs also asked supplementary questions and alleged that Marathi language is not being taught in many schools of the state despite the rules.
The members also said that those violating the rules schools But the fine imposed is not sufficient and effective action is also not being taken against them.
Action will be taken against those who do not follow the rules
Responding to these allegations, School Education Minister Dada Bhuse said that the state government is fully committed to the preservation and promotion of Marathi language. He said that soon a special inspection campaign will be started across the state, under which all the schools will be inspected. If rules are not followed in any school, strict action will be taken against the concerned officials and management.
In the Assembly, the Minister also shared important information regarding the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He said that earlier in the textbooks of many other education boards of the country, the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was limited to only about one and a half columns. Now after the approval of the Central Government, it has been expanded to 22 pages, so that students will be able to get detailed information about his life and contribution.
Emphasis on the glorious history of Chhatrapati Shivaji
Dada Bhuse said that the objective of the state government is not only to promote Marathi language but also to connect the new generation with the glorious history and cultural heritage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He assured that adherence to the prescribed rules will be ensured in all schools and negligence or ignoring the rules will not be tolerated at any level.
