
In connection with serious irregularities found during inspection in various stores of the Central Procurement Agency (CPA), 5 pharmacists and 2 officials have been suspended with immediate effect. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta says that corruption and administrative negligence will not be tolerated at all in the government. This action was taken after investigation revealed serious irregularities and negligence related to procurement, storage and management of medicines. The CM has clarified that the Delhi government has a policy of ‘zero tolerance’ towards corruption and corruption, negligence or irregularity will not be tolerated at any level in the government system.
Rekha Gupta said that ensuring accountability in matters related to public interest is the top priority of the government and strict action will be taken against any officer or employee found guilty. In fact, earlier this month, the Delhi government had transferred more than 40 medical, paramedical and administrative officers and employees in a comprehensive administrative reshuffle in the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) under the Health and Family Welfare Department.
After this, Rekha Gupta had said that with this step the health services of the capital will become stronger, transparent, accountable and efficient. He had also emphasized that it is his government’s firm commitment to provide better medical facilities to the people of Delhi and any kind of negligence or indiscipline in this regard will not be tolerated.
10 doctors transferred
He had told that 10 doctors including CPA office head Dr. Vinod Kumar Ranga, 20 employees to strengthen paramedical services and 10 other employees at the level of Section Officer, Senior Assistant and Junior Assistant have been transferred to increase efficiency in administrative work.
CPA oversees the procurement and supply of medical supplies.
The Chief Minister had said that the CPA works as an important center in the healthcare infrastructure of the Delhi government, which oversees the procurement and supply of medicines, medical equipment and other essential health-related materials. To further increase the efficiency of this system, experienced officers and employees from various hospitals and departments are being included in this agency.
