Major action by ATS and Coast Guard in Gujarat, 115 KG cocaine worth Rs 1,150 crore seized

Major action has been taken against drug smuggling in Gujarat. Gujarat Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Indian Coast Guard have recovered about 115 kg of cocaine in a joint operation. This action was taken on the sea route of Kutch region, where a search operation was conducted after receiving information about suspicious activities.

According to the investigating agencies, the estimated value of the seized cocaine in the international market is around Rs 1,150 crore. Officials say that this is considered to be one of the biggest drug seizures in the country in recent years.

The consignment was coming to India via Pakistan

Preliminary investigation has revealed that this drug was being smuggled into India from South American countries via Pakistan. Smugglers were planning to transport drugs to the Gujarat coast using the sea route. Agencies are also investigating the international connections of this entire network.

Gujarat ATS along with other central agencies have initiated a comprehensive investigation and are conducting search operations to identify and trace other people associated with the international drug trafficking network. Raids are being conducted at various places. Smuggling through sea borders is being continuously monitored. So that such networks can be completely destroyed. Even before this, many cases of drug smuggling have come to light from sea borders.
