Made in Pakistan bedsheet used in religious event, police in action after viral video

A woman claims that this tag appeared only after washing the clothes. This incident took place in Chinchwad area of ​​Pimpri-Chinchwad. Here the woman had purchased the bedsheet from a stall in the Sankashti Chaturthi fair organized near the Morya Gosavi temple complex. According to the woman, when she bought this product, she did not find anything strange in it. But after washing the bedsheet, he noticed a tag on the cloth that read ‘Made in Pakistan’.

Troubled by this, the woman shared a video on social media and raised the question that how did a product said to be made in Pakistan reach the local market of Maharashtra? After the video went viral, Pimpri-Chinchwad police started investigation and formed a special team. This team will find out where the bedsheet came from and what was the supply chain that sold it in the fair.

The police have also written a letter to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation saying that if during the investigation any kind of rule is found to be broken, then action should be taken. This bedsheet was purchased on Wednesday on the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, when a large number of devotees had gathered in the temple premises. Officials are investigating the source of the product. The investigators are now trying to find out where the bedsheet was made, who supplied it to the seller and whether similar products are being sold through any big distribution network.

The incident comes shortly after the arrest of three people in Maharashtra’s Sambhajinagar district who were accused of selling cosmetic products labeled ‘Made in Pakistan’. Officials said further action in the Pune case will depend on the results of the ongoing investigation.
